My QR code won't scan

Accepted Answer

Three usual causes: the logo is too large (keep it at or below about 25% of the width), the contrast is too low (dark pattern on a light background scans best — avoid light-on-dark and low-contrast gradients), or the printed size is too small for the amount of data. Raise the error-correction level to Q or H, shorten the URL, or print it bigger.

Question 2

The scanner can't find a code in my image

Accepted Answer

Crop the image so the code fills more of the frame, and check it isn't blurred, angled steeply or cut off at an edge. Screenshots of a screen sometimes carry a moiré pattern — a fresh screenshot at 100% zoom usually decodes fine. Inverted codes (light on dark) are the hardest case for any decoder.

Question 3

My history disappeared

Accepted Answer

History lives in the browser's local extension storage. It is cleared if you uninstall and reinstall the extension, if you reset the browser profile, or if you clear browsing data with extension storage included. Use Settings → Backup to export a JSON file, and re-import it afterwards. The file is also the way to move your history to another machine.

Question 4

The keyboard shortcut does nothing

Accepted Answer

Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts and check the combination is actually assigned to QR Studio — Chrome silently leaves it blank when another extension already owns it. Shortcuts also do not fire on chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store, or other extensions' pages, because extensions are not allowed to run there.

Question 5

Can I use it in another browser?

Accepted Answer

Any Chromium browser that installs from the Chrome Web Store works: Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi and Opera. Firefox uses a different extension format and isn't supported yet — if you want it, say so by email and it moves up the list.
