Data we collect

None. QR Studio does not collect, store on any server, transmit, share, or sell any personal data. There is no sign-in, no analytics, and no telemetry. Every QR code is generated on your own device and every scan is decoded on your own device. The content you encode — URLs, Wi-Fi passwords, contact cards, crypto addresses — is never sent anywhere.

Your history, style templates and settings are stored in your browser via the standard extension storage and never leave your machine. You can clear them at any time from the extension's settings, and uninstalling the extension removes them with it.

Network access

QR Studio makes no network requests as part of its normal operation. It contains no remote API calls, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no crash reporter. The extension is marked offline-capable and works with no internet connection at all.

Permissions and why they are needed

activeTab

Reads the current tab's URL, only while the popup is open, so the QR code for the page you are on can be generated instantly. It is also what allows the visible tab to be captured when you choose full-page scanning. Limited to the tab you are on at that moment; QR Studio does not request the broader tabs permission and does not request host permissions for any site.

contextMenus

Adds the right-click entries: generate a QR code for the current page, a link, or the text you selected, and scan a QR code inside an image you right-clicked. The menu items only act when you click them.

storage

Persists your local history, style templates and settings in the browser's extension storage so they survive the service worker being recycled. All values stay on your device.

unlimitedStorage

Lets your local history and template library grow past the small default quota — QR thumbnails and embedded logos are images, and the default quota fills up quickly. It grants no additional access to anything; it only raises the size limit of the same local storage.

scripting

Shows a small on-page overlay with the decoded value after you scan a QR code from an image via the right-click menu. The script is injected only into the tab you acted on, only at that moment, and only to display the result.

QR Studio requests no host permissions, no `tabs` permission, and no camera access — scanning works from image files, the clipboard and a capture of the visible tab, never from your webcam.

Remote code

QR Studio does not load or execute any remote code. All JavaScript and WebAssembly are bundled in the extension package.

The QR codes you create

Every code QR Studio produces is a static code: the data is encoded directly into the pattern. There is no redirect through our servers, no short link, no scan counter, and nothing that can expire or be switched off later. We therefore have no record of any code you make and no way to see when or where it is scanned.

This website

qrstudio.xeviora.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It stores no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Your theme and language preference are kept in your browser's local storage and never sent anywhere. As with any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data (such as IP address) to serve and protect the site; we do not add tracking on top of it.

Children

QR Studio is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. Because it collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. The current version is always published on this page.
